logger interface: VLC media player - 1.1.0 The Luggage NB: Right-click -> Properties on the relevant CD/DVD drive in 'My Computer' tells you the filesystem. Be nice if I could autoplay a DVD accidentally created using CDFS though, like WMP does.Įxcept for that, VLC is marvelously idiot-proof. I am actually quite ok with that, but I tell some friends VLC is the bees knees. I think this may be happening a lot.įor now, the only solutions I have is to play using 'Open folder' or to reburn the DVD as a UDF filesystem. I know DVD should be UDF file system, but in my ignorance I just copied some AUDIO_TS+VIDEO_TS files round and burnt them to a DVD without knowing to set the FS as UDF. I have seen quite a few DVDs showing these symptoms, and I think that is the reason. The reason as far as I can tell (and DVDOpenFileUDF is a bit of a giveaway) is that one of them is a UDF file system - plays fine on VLC, the other is CDFS and won't play on VLC. I now have a pair of DVDs, BOTH start up ok in WMP. The disc FS can be inspected using windows explorer perfectly ok. 'Open folder' works fine, but 'Open disc' gives that error. VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd://J:\'. Looking quite hard all over the web gave me no solution.
